1. Seminar for the Catechism Teachers
The seminar for the
catechism teachers of
Bangalore was held at
ST.MARY'S church, Hennur on
the 13th of April. The
seminar was conducted by
Fr.Varghese Kalikkodath the
director of catechism in
MCCETRI and is
currently in charge of the
Baroda community. The
teachers from all the three
churches had assembled for
the seminar which started immediately after the Samoohabali. In the seminar
Fr.varghese focused on the
imparting the orientation of
the current catechism text
books, on the methodology of
teaching that has to be
followed. He also stressed
on how important it is,
for teachers and parents to
mould the new generation in
Christian faith with the
right approach.
A decision was taken on how
the pattern of exams and
syllabi from the next
academic year should be. He
also conveyed about the
centralized examination
system that will be
implemented at the earliest.
A regional committee of
9 for the first time in the
history of Bangalore was
nominated from which the
president ,secretary and
treasurer was elected. The
regional committee consists
of the following: Mr. Mathew
Joseph
(PRESIDENT), Mr. Benny,
Mrs.Jessy from Mathikere,
Mrs. . Lizy Joy(TREASURER),
Mrs. Reny Saju, Mrs. Daisy
James, from Hennur & Mrs.
Gigi Varghese
(SECRETARY) , Mrs.GigiI
Thomas, Mrs.Mercy Babu from
Singasandra. |

2. Sunday
School day Celebrations
The 3 churches in Bangalore
celebrated the Sunday school
day as per the new ETRI
guidelines on Sunday the 3rd
of August. Special
offertories where made by
the Sunday school student
before the holy mass at the
churches where Fr. Joseph
venmanath (Mathikere), Fr.
Mathew Perumbillikunel, Fr.
John Nelluvilayill (Hennur)
and Fr.Mathew Valikadeth along with Fr. George Thomas and Fr. Jaison(Singasandra)
were the main celebrants.
While the Sunday school
students at Hennur led the
Choir for the whole mass the
Students at singasandra
church sung songs during the
final Blessings to make the
day special. After the Holy
mass the offertories where
auctioned to raise funds for
the unit Sunday schools.
Later the students
celebrated their day with a
variety of spectacular
Cultural programmes at each
of their churches. The
programmes varied from solo
and group songs, action
songs, mono-act,
presentations, choreography
and skits. |
