9. August 2008: Outing to the Innovative Film City at Bidadi.

The much awaited one day trip for the MCYM Bangalore Region, finally culminated on 23rd August 2008, after too much of brain storming and ground work we unanimously agreed to head towards Multiplex Innovative Film City, near the Bidadi Industrial Estate, Bidadi. The group of 44members from the 3 centers, including 3-priests, 1-brother, four sisters and animators apart from the youth league members, reached the Film City by 10.30am on the Bright Saturday morning in separately arranged vehicles.

While the units in charges were busy arranging the entry tickets for the group the Regional Director introduced the youths to the plan for the day and gave a few instructions that were expected to be followed by the youths at the campus. Then the Regional General Secretary Mr. Shiju John instructed the group about the Treasure hunt programme, grouped them into 4 different groups and handled over the envelopes to the team captains. The competitive spirit of the 4 teams immediately reflected as all the teams where busy solving the crossword puzzle to gain the preference for the next envelope with clues of the treasure location. Within no time the teams, after solving the crossword, entered the campus and collected the 2nd envelope and started solving it. The time was clicking and the teams were still busy solving the 2nd set of puzzles and none of them bothered to have a look around the Film city campus. Finally the groups started submitting the resolved sheets to Shiju by 11.55am. The Organizers now decide to hold the next set of clues till post lunch and advised the youths to visit the various events in the campus till the Lunch time and the members obliged. While few visited events like the Dinosaur Park, Madam Tussaud’s Wax Museum, the Ripley’s Believe It or Not! Museum, other spent their time enjoying the Mini Golf, Fossil Hunt, Go-karting, and various video games and a 4d theatre- experience at the Funplex.

At 1.45pm all the youths gathered at the Grab-Hut to feed their hunger. Each one had their own choice varying from the tandoori, south Indian cuisines, Chinese, McDonalds's etc... After the lunch all of them gathered at the nearby lawn for an introduction section and to try their luck out with the Housie. Rev. Fr. Joseph Venmanath conducted the game for the youths and gave away the prizes to the winners. Later at 3.30pm it was time for the last phase of the treasure hunt, as soon as Shiju handed over the last set of envelopes to the respective teams, the teams fled the scene to hunt the treasure in the campus. After some desperate search in every shade and holes of the mini golf field, Rajesh Rajan from the Blue team traced out the Treasure. While the blue team was celebrating around the campus with slogans, the other teams congratulated the winners and the organizers for the well arranged hunt game.
Now at 3.45pm majority of the youths decided to spend their remaining time at the Aqua Kingdom and few others opted out to enjoy the events that they missed earlier in the day. At the Aqua Kingdom the MCYM group was at their best, some enjoying the beach volleyball and other playing, swimming, and having fun at the artificial beach. Some peppy numbers by the orchestra added to the enjoyment. The Organizers utilized this facility at the beach for a surprise song dedication to the regional director who was celebrating his birthday the next day and also for those MCYM members who were celebrating their birthday in the month of August.

Finally the group reluctantly walked out of the aqua kingdom at 6pm and joined the last session outside the aqua kingdom during which the treasure hunt winning team and the Mr. Rajesh rajan was awarded the prizes by the director Fr. Mathew. The organizers also greeted the director on his birthday with specially designed card and a gift. The session concluded with evaluation of the outing and a vote of thanks by Shiju John. The youths then dispersed after a few snaps together to their respective homes at 7PM with some happy memories, relaxed minds and special thanks to the MCYM Bangalore region Committee and the organizers.
